HistoryThe Small Brothers history dates back to 1980 with Richard G. Small. Richard in the basement of his Mentor, Ohio home started what has become a family of privately owned and highly successful companies. In 1980, Richard and his four sons Mark, Tim, Jon, and James started Cleveland Construction, a general contracting and interior specialty construction firm. Cleveland Construction continues to be a privately-held family owned company that has grown from its humble beginnings to six offices in five states and over 1,000 employees and has become a leading general contractor and interiors contractor on the national level. Cleveland Construction soon expanded to include CCI Supply, a construction supply company now operating as Best Supply, Inc. and grew to eight supply yards in four states before being sold in 2010. In 2004, the Small family founded Telling Industries, LLC with the intent to set a new standard in cold-formed metal framing. In four short years, Telling Industries has grown to three manufacturing facilities strategically located across the country serving the entire United States and parts of Canada. Today, the company has a national presence in the metal stud industry manufacturing light gauge metal studs and accessories. During this growth, the number of facilities has grown in which the need for a real estate holding company, Small Brothers, LLC was formed. Under this company all related real estate is owned and managed on a leaseback to the individual companies. With the history of growth and a business philosophy to own their real estate, along with the strength of its construction related companies the brothers saw the next logical vehicle of growth would be in development. In 2007, Peak Realty Partners, LLC was formed. Peak Realty Partners serves as a full-service real estate brokerage firm in southwest Florida and is the vehicle for the Small Brothers development efforts. The Small Brothers family of companies continues the legacy of its founder Richard G. Small. The Small Brothers core business remains in the construction industry offering services in general contracting, interior contracting, design/build and consulting, and has grown to include supply, material distribution, manufacturing, fabricated load-bearing walls, real estate and development. With these companies combined, you can expect your project turned over quickly with the highest quality in ready-to-use condition. As of 2021, the Small Brothers family of companies employs over 1,500 employees across its portfolio of businesses and continues to look toward the future for more growth opportunities that will complement its holdings both in its present venues and out. |
